Events and workshops for the Spring months
It’s been all go this week with lots of events happening for Spring on the nursery so lots of organising, so needless to say its all very exciting. We have a children’s competition that I want to give you details on its open to any age up to 14 and will be judged in age categories with several prizes of gift hampers with gardening goodies and vouchers The competition is to design your dream garden and send in your drawings of your garden. We’re hoping for some really funky ideas and some more traditional ones, some kids like my own daughter who designs these constantly (and who will not be allowed to enter) who love to design cottage gardens with playhouses and some who prefer to have vegetable gardens and lots of adventure trails whatever your kids like we will just be delighted to see their garden designs and all the entries will be on a gallery in our train. Our new vegetable garden is starting to take place and has a new position just above the train which will enable our grow your own vegetable classes to take place there. The class format is just being finalised but will start on Saturday 3rd March and will start at 10am for full detail contact jo@caraghnurseries.ie or call 045 879170.
There will be several different craft classes happening over the next months but the first one organised is a silver jewellery class on Saturday 31st March with Lisa Fahy of www.studioCworkshop.com.
But our big event happening is a Spring fayre which will take place on March 24th & 25th and will have lots of stalls all from local cottage industries, from food to crafts bit of wine and cheese and lots of garden and gardening too. There will be demos and activities running throughout the weekend with bouncy castle, barbeque, crepes and ice creams.
